A very special day!

Before I tell you why this is such a special day, I will explain away my absence! Raquel, I promise, my post about our absolute miracle of Abraham is in my drafts...a few more adjustments and it will be ready to publish here! If you haven't already heard that story...stay tuned, it is a very real miracle!
Anyway, I have just over 8 weeks till this little boy is due to arrive and we have a few things stacked against us. #1 Just like the last 3, Sophie was supposed to be our last baby, so Phil had me get rid of EVERYTHING!! So we are starting from scratch and to save Phil's pocket, I am trying to make as much as possible. My collection, so far, consists of:
Diaper Bag/ Changing Pad/ Wipe Case
Burp cloths/Bibs
Receiving Blankets
Knit Hats
Pajama bottoms
Sling
Hooter Hider ;)
My new creation...a pouch for my purse that will fit a couple diapers and a wipe case.
Pictures to follow in the next day or two! I still have quite a bit more I need to make, so I am just doing a little at a time.
#2 I already miss MOPS terribly, but I will surely miss the meals that come after the baby is born, and here you can't just run to the store or order take out! So, I have been trying to make an extra meal here and there to freeze. Right now I have:
Meatloaf
Swedish Meatballs
BBQ meatballs
Shredded beef and broth for french dip sandwiches
Spaghetti
Lasagna
Lots of cooked hamburger for tacos and sloppy joes.
Next in line are some chicken dishes.
So really, I haven't been just sitting around doing all the things I would love to do, like watch TV, sleep and eat bon bons...not many of us mamas get to do those things anymore do we now! Onward soldiers!!
So...our very SPECIAL day is Isabelle's 5th birthday!!!! Isabelle was only 5 lbs 9 oz when she was born. She scared us a bit when she struggled to take her first breath but after 2 weeks in the NICU she proved to be a fighter. God also had a reason for her being in there in that she won over the hearts of all her nurses...even the most stern of faces, Nurse Nancy, whom gave us her home phone number to call her if we needed anything!
God has given Isabelle gifts I only pray that one day I would posses. She is so very sweet, gentle, meek and kind...and at the same time it is balanced with an individuality and Independence wise beyond her years.
She laughs when she really wants to cry...it is heart wrenching, because you see her eyes well up, but she doesn't want to hurt someones feelings, so she pretends everything is wonderful.
SHE IS THE DEFINITION OF JOY.
Her middle name is Pearl, so fitting because in this world where children are out of control, she is a rarity. Not because of anything we have done as parents, but because God made her this way.
She is polite and thoughtful and wants to please everyone she is around. If you never want to have children, spend a day with her and you will have different feelings after.
She loves lip gloss and puppies, her "cowgirl" shirts and boots, oh and the "cowgirl" belt her daddy bought her.
She makes me want to be a better mom.
Lord, help me to be the mom you have called me to be. Don't let me see the value of my children only on their birthdays but every day. Help me to water the fruits you have given my children and not extinguish their hearts. Thankyou for these wonderful treasures...I am the most blessed woman in the world!
