#6's Diaper Bag ;)

Sorry, more sewing pictures...there will probably be quite a few of these as I try to get everything done before our next little man arrives!

Before I started the diaper bag for the new baby, I needed to do something for Sophie. You all know there is so much that needs to fit in the baby's bag, there is no room for more stuff. Since really all she needs are diapers and wipes (which hopefully won't be needed too much longer) I decided to make a little case to go in my purse. This is what came of it:

A ribbon ties it together through a button hole in the flap and the inside is lined with minke. It is just enough room for a wipe case and a couple diapers!

I started using faux leather on the bottom of my bags. It is easy to wipe off and just seems to be more durable. Plus I LOVE it! This time I added a ribbon to the opening which helps to hold all those baby goodies in this very large bag. Here are the matching burp cloths, wipe case and changing pad. The changing pad is layered with fabric on the outside, two layers of batting and minke on the inside. Lets just say I would love to lay on this thing!!

Pictures of the sling and nursing cover to come. I have to wear them so I suppose I should get in a shower and a little lip gloss so as not to stun you with my umm...hygiene laziness!

Sophie's Easter Dress and Bell Bottoms

This dress has lots of shirring (I love this and it is so easy!). It also has a detachable rag flower that is on her dress, but it can also be put in the hair and a sash that ties around the waist.

Her pants are just a glorified version of ruffle bottom pants that I have dubbed, "Baby Bell Bottoms."

My little brother's room...

So, my mom asked me if I'd help her paint my new little brother's room. We were originally going to paint a strip of camouflage around the room, but nothing ever turns out to be that simple in my brain...I tend to be a little extreme at times.

Anyway, I thought since he loves hunting and all, that it would be neat to make it look like there was a blowout or shotgun hole through his wall, so I googled torn wall paper and found a few pictures of what that might look like. I didn't have any of the tools or paint that I would need, but was bound and determined to get it done.

While my mom so thoughtfully watched my children and with nothing but a 3 inch sponge brush, q-tips, and a lot of prayer...this is what came of it.

I am not telling you this for any other reason than to say...If you have something you want done, or something you have always wanted to do, give it a shot! You might just be very surprised with yourself! God gives us so many amazing gifts and tools and we are the ones putting a limit to what we can achieve. I love to paint, so this was fun for me, but I struggle with limits on my life in so many other areas. While painting this, God just gave me a little analogy and I thought I would share. We don't always have the smarts nor the correct tools to accomplish many things, but as believers, God equips us with all we need.

Craft Fair

Gabrielle has been knitting for these last few months, and her diligence paid off. She made close to $50 dollars. She had to pay her daddy for the supplies and set aside here tithe, but even after that she added a good sum to her Christmas shopping fund!

The rest of my children would like to learn to knit now so that they can reap such benefits...funny how that works!This is our table at a glance:
We hat covered wipe cases, baby shower sets, crayon rolls, vinyl covered children's aprons, adult aprons, bible covers and purses.
I also did a couple gift basket ideas.

I put up a photo album and had gift cards so that people could place orders for children's clothing as well.

My mama had a table for photography and hand colored pictures so that everyone could see how it is done.

Thankfully all the hustle and bustle didn't interfere with nap time. Sophie slept 3 hours!

Mama and her girls...My sister Rikki and Katy are on the ends. It was a fun day filled with enjoyable company!!

Apron Winner!

Ok, so I have decided that I don't like drawings!!! I don't want there to be one winner, I would love all of you to win. Which has led me to a decision that totally counteracts that I don't like drawings...I am going to have more drawings!!

My new diaper bag!

I finally learned how to read a pattern (well, sort-of), and this is what I got! I chose a diaper bag because they said it would be a bit easier of a pattern to start off with. I already have a fabulous diaper bag that Tara made for me, but as we are living in a constant state of dirt, it is in the wash half the time. Thankyou Tara for making such a beautiful, sturdy bag...it looks the same after about a hundred washes!!

This one is an Amy Butler Diaper bag/Purse. It is reversable, has lots of pockets and because the inside is lined with canvas, it is so sturdy and durable. I used beautiful Farmer's Market fabric from Portabello Pixie. Just thought I'd share!
