We stayed home for Independence Day, but didn't lack any fun. In the morning we made our Flag cake, throughout the day the kids practiced their Pledge of Allegiance and Star Spangled Banner, and at night we swam. Gabrielle and I prepared Stuffed Pork Chops, steamed carrots and broccoli, salad and homemade bread. We ate around the pool area, and swam until dark. Then we went out to the front yard to light our own fireworks, and were pleasantly surprised to find out that we had a fabulous view of 2 firework shows. We live out in the boonies, so we didn't expect this!! All in all, it was an exciting day.
