Accommodations...Canaan's Story (Part 7)

So, I thought I would share pictures of what has been Canaan and my home for the past month. It really is amazing...they just finished the new NICU in October. Before this, all the babies were in one room and the parents were unable to stay. Now all the rooms are private, and they even have a twins room and a triplets room which are over double the size of our room.
Here is Canaan's big boy bed: That little puppy you can barely see in the window is one that all the visitors, nurses and doctors are signing. It is almost full now! We have our own sink here, but there is also a parent's lounge that has a sink, dishwasher, washer and dryer, fridge, microwave, tv...etc. Anything and everything we need is provided. The fridge is even stocked so that we can have midnight snacks ;) A habit I have yet to break since pregnancy. These bulletin boards are now full and you cannot see them anymore...Thankyou everyone who sent cards, flowers and e-mails to the hospital. I love being able to see all who have been praying and thinking about little Canaan! There is my wonderful nursing chair and fancy smancy "hooter hider" ;)
They have the cabinet there and drawers under the bed to keep all our belongings in.
This bed is actually rather comfy... I get to sleep about 1 and 1/2 hours every three hours at night and I do feel rested in the morning. Even with all the alarms and babies crying, I sleep pretty sound...I have to set the alarm on my phone to wake up for his care times.
Phil bought this teddy bear for Canaan and I have named him Henry. He is my new best friend so I had to get a picture of him or he might get his feelings hurt. ;) Well, I had to get pictures on before it was too late...WE ARE GOING HOME ON MONDAY!! After a month here in the hospital, we get to go home. He will be going home on oxygen and monitors, but we are so thankful to get back to the kids and my very patient hubby!
Sweet Jesus, thankyou for getting us through this. You have once again come through for our family even though we are so undeserving. You have shown that You give mind even to the smallest of details and that You are bigger than any circumstance. I praise you for this trial...it has caused me to grow closer to You in a way I never thought possible. It is a moment in my life where I can define You, see You and feel You.
Thankyou for our son, and thankyou for carrying me when I could not walk. I love You my Father God.

What a great set up they have there for families. I am so excited that you get to take Canaan home and that you get to have your family back together. I can not believe that it has been a month since he was born. Rossie, you have such a wonderful heart for the Lord and your joy in the midst of trials is such a testament to Jesus!

That room is great. It is wonderful that they created these rooms for families needing this! I must say that I loved the Strawberry Shortcake blanket on YOUR bed! The life of a momma!
