A Glorious Weekend

I just had the most wonderful weekend. First, I picked up my dear friend Tara at the airport. She flew in from Texas on Friday...for those of you who don't know, she is my "internet" friend. We met at The Family Homestead forum many years ago, and the Lord formed such a special friendship. This was our first time meeting face to face, and I thought there may be a little nervousness, but that was quickly thrown out the window when I picked her up. I realized, I already know her, she was as wonderful as ever. Our children are all penpals, so when they got to meet her, the hugs were endless...they knew her. It really is a friendship made in heaven and I am so thankful for her.
She stayed Friday through Sunday and was able to meet several of our Montana friends, many of them already know her as well since they attended my baby shower that Tara hosted all the way from Texas!
I got to take her to my children's play...the three big kids were in a homeschool play. Then on Saturday, my mom and sister, Rikki, came in for lunch. My mom keeps telling me, "That is a very special friend you have there!"
Tara and I spent lots of time in the hospital...it takes a true mama to see a beautiful baby under all the hospital garb and tubes!
Saturday, Phil brought the kids in to stay in a hotel (the hospital dr's here own a hotel next door and provide 2 free nights to families with NICU patients...another one of God's blessings) so we got to all spend time together. Tara blessed us all in so many ways and we are all so thankful...me most of all to have her in our lives! We can't wait to meet the rest of her family!
Sunday evening she had to leave...
Monday morning Phil and the kids had to leave...
Lord, help me continue to count my blessings every day I spend in this hospital.

I am so happy to hear that you had such a wonderful weekend and that you were FINALLY able to meet Tara face to face! What a nice treat. I know it must be lonely hanging at the hospital all alone most days, but you are one tough cookie sister. God is with you and so are all your friends and family in spirit! Kiss Canaan for me. Love you.

HI "Mom" :)
I cannot express how much fun I had this weekend! And how could anyone not see how absolutely beautiful and precious Canaan is????? He is BREATHTAKING!!!!! I am so sorry I am not closer! I wish I were there to be with you more! I know it must be hard being there alone. I can imagine you sitting on your bed and watching Canaan's breathing and oxygen levels! You are doing a great job! You are being such a light for the Lord there! I know you want to be home! And soon you will be! But God has a purpose! He always does! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this wonderful chapter in your life! Keep shining that light!

PS. Thanks for calling me your "internet" friend. Ohhh I wanted to crawl in a hole every time I heard someone say that. :) But I know the Lord was ministering to many through the way we met! :)

LOVE YA!!!!!!!!
